Working Together to Safeguard Children

In October 2017, HM Government released their Working Together to Safeguard Children document. A consultation was then held until December 2017, where they invited views on changes to the statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children, new child death review guidance and new regulations.

In February, changes based on the consultation were made, and a final document was released. These revisions reflect the legislative changes introduced through the Children and Social Work Act 2017.

Following the consultation, the government proposed to update and replace the current statutory guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015.

The revisions to the statutory guidance will be relevant to any role when working with children and families.
