Level 3 Multi-Agency Child Protection (MACP) with a focus on Domestic Violence

The course aims to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on children and families. By the end of the session, participants will feel more confident in their ability to recognise and respond to the needs of children living in households affected by domestic violence and abuse.

The course is aimed at staff who have previously attended Level 3 Multi-Agency Child Protection training, but no specialist knowledge is required. 

This course is delivered by our expert facilitators who will bring their first hand experience and tailor the course to suit your learning needs.

Our course covers the following topics:

  • Introduce self and aims for today
  • Data and statistics
  • Society, Gender and Culture
  • Definition and Types of Abuse Living in households affected by domestic abuse
  • Parenting capacity
  • Legal Framework
  • Barriers to leaving and getting help
  • The impact on children and young people
  • Early Identification, Assessment and Support
  • Responding to concerns – recap of procedures.

Learning Objectives

  • Define Domestic Violence and Abuse.
  • Understand the impact of domestic abuse on the non-abusing parent, including how this can affect their capacity to care for their children.
  • Identify how domestic abuse can adversely impact on children’s safety, development and emotional well-being.
  • Know how to respond to any concerns around domestic violence and abuse.
  • Understand some of the additional risk factors associated with domestic abuse, including mental ill health, substance misuse / alcohol use.
  • Have an awareness of the roles and responsibilities of different agencies in providing services to parents and children experiencing domestic abuse.

To secure your place, please forward a cheque for the relevant course amount made payable to ‘Carter Brown Associates’ with your completed booking form to the address below. Alternatively, we will accept payment by BACS. Please contact our Accounts Team on 01623 661089 for more details. In the event that we cannot allocate a place, your payment will not be processed and cheques will be destroyed.
Your payment includes a place on the course, including lunch and refreshments only. Any other costs incurred for travel or overnight stays remain the responsibility of the delegate.
Cancellations made in writing before the 7 day cut off point will result a full refund. Those made within 7 days of the event but outside of the 72 hour period prior to the event will result in a fifty percent refund.
Refunds will not be given for any cancellations received within the 72 hour period prior to the event date. If you do not cancel and fail to attend, no refund will be made. Substitutions may be made at any time prior to the event.
Non-registered Delegates
Carter Brown Associates will not accept responsibility for any travel costs or time away from work, so to avoid disappointment, ensure you have received confirmation of your allocated place, as non-registered delegates will regrettably be turned away.
Data Protection
The personal information provided by you will be held by Carter Brown Associates and used to manage your attendance at the training event. The personal data in the database will be retained by Carter Brown Associates unless you request otherwise in writing.
