Dr B. R

Dr B. R has extensive experience of working in both NHS-based and independent services over the last 15 years. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist, they have worked in adult and child services, addressing complex and enduring mental health difficulties across the life span. Since 2011 they have dedicated their clinical time working in specialist child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). This has included forensic CAMHS, adolescent in-patient and specialist edge of care services.

More recently, they have commenced clinical work for looked after children in residential school settings within the independent sector. This has involved developing the clinical model for the service provider and delivering a clinical psychology service to the young people, staff and the wider network around the child.

Dr B.R has a number of areas of expertise including psychological assessments of young people in the criminal justice system, attachment, complex developmental trauma – chronic physical, emotional, sexual abuse and neglect, post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd), child risk assessment – violence, sexual, arson, emerging personality disorder, young people’s mental health, deliberate self-harm, fitness to plead/capacity to follow court proceedings, cognitive assessments, learning disability assessment, parenting capacity – ability to parent, protect, work with professionals, motivation to change, mental health assessment – including personality, domestic violence, drug and alcohol use, cognitive assessment, learning disability assessment and mental capacity – sexual, finances.
