Amanda has most recently worked for St Andrew’s Healthcare. Her focus was predominantly on female patients with a primary diagnosis of Personality Disorder. Many patients have additional psychiatric history, substance addictions, and prior offending behaviour. Previously Amanda worked for the NHS on a low secure psychiatric ward. Patients all had enduring mental health needs and / or Personality Disorder complicated by offending behaviour, substance misuse or risky behaviour (towards self or others). Amanda work in assessment and treatment and also provides short and long-term therapies targeting patient’s individual needs.
Amanda’s areas of expertise include: formulation of offence cycles; understanding contributing factors to offending behaviour, impact and influence of substance misuse and mental health and relapse, assessment of motivation and treatability, assessment of fitness to plead and ability to understand the process, abuse and neglect – physical, emotional and sexual, PTSD, depression and anxiety, psychosis, paranoia and unusual ideas, self-harm and suicidal ideation, sexual deviance, violence (including assessment of anger and emotional control), women’s mental health (including post-natal depression, puerperal psychosis, and female sexual offending), personality disorder and complex trauma and abuse
