Kieran joined Carter Brown in 2007 following completion of a degree course in Business Operations Management and now has over 10 years’ experience in the industry. Kieran has worked in most of the primary teams of the service and has acted in a management capacity at Carter Brown since 2010 and was most recently promoted to Service Manager in 2016. Further to this Kieran has trained as a contact supervisor and undertaken initial visits of prospective adopters for a national Voluntary Adoption Agency.
In his own time, Kieran enjoys a number of sporting activities including golf, football and skiing. Kieran is also a keen traveller and his ambition is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and visit the Arctic Circle.

Amy joined Carter Brown in 2010, having graduated from University with a degree in Psychology. Her previous roles within the company have ranged from Administrator, Referrals Coordinator to Management roles, providing Amy with a good working knowledge of the service.
Amy has also volunteered with Mind supporting people with mental health in the community; trained and worked as a Contact Supervisor; and undertaken initial visits of prospective adopters for a national Voluntary Adoption Agency.

Alan, our Head of Consultancy, is a qualified social worker and child therapist of 25 years’ experience. He has worked within the statutory; voluntary (NSPCC and BAAF) and private sector across England as a senior manager; Head of Service; Director; Agency Decision Maker; Head of Safeguarding and as a Managing Consultant. Alan has designed and delivered many hundreds of hours of high quality training, and is currently delivering clinical supervision to a specialist children’s team in the Midlands. Alan has worked closely with a number of Local Authorities in regard to improving systems and processes. Alan holds the following qualifications: BA (hons); Post Grad Cert Crim Jus Soc Pol; Dip.Sw; MA Social Work (Keele); AASW (York); MA NDPT Psychotherapy (York).

Karina Ghani currently works as Professional Advisor for Carter Brown. Karina is an experienced children and family’s social worker, and has a wealth of experience in private and public law proceedings. Karina is also experienced in the field of adoption and fostering, and continues to practice in this area. She has produced and facilitated a training program for Carter Brown’s independent social workers and external clients. Karina is keen to develop knowledge pertaining to social work theory and practice through her academic studies. This knowledge is pinnacle to Karina’s main function within the business which is offering case specific consultations to assessors.

Cheryl joined Carter Brown in 2008 as the Referrals Manager. She subsequently adopted the Office Manager role, which she carries out today, in addition to managing the Case Handling Team.
Cheryl spent the first 8 years of her working life in solicitors’ practices where she completed her Level 3 Diploma in Law with the Institute of Legal Executives. Cheryl has also completed her Level 3 Diploma with the Institute of Leadership and Management.
In her own time, Cheryl has a hectic life looking after her twin girls and their older brother. She enjoys attending concerts and is a keen reader of literature.

Lisa joined Carter Brown in 2006 after 5 years working in the Civil Service. Lisa initially worked as a Referrals Co-ordinator and after a brief spell on admin transferred to the then newly formed Quality Assurance Team in 2009. Lisa has managed the team since 2010 and uses her skills and knowledge to assist experts in providing the most robust and helpful assessments possible.
In her own time, Lisa enjoys reading and spending time with her three boys. She loves to cook so can be found poring over her husband’s significant collection of cookery books for inspiration. She also enjoys writing for pleasure and is due to start a Creative Writing course in autumn 2017.

Ashleigh joined our service in 2015 as a member of the Local Authority Team. In November 2016, she was promoted to Business Development Manager. Ashleigh graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2014 with a First Class Degree in English Language, and later worked within the Internal Communications team for the NHS before joining Carter Brown.
In her own time, Ashleigh enjoys reading, watching films and exploring Derbyshire with her partner, Kieran. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and also enjoys Star Wars, Marvel, DC and Game of Thrones.

Annie joined our service in 2015, as a Case Handler in our Local Authority team. Annie has also acted as our recruitment coordinator and in 2017 was promoted to Team Leader of the Local Authority Team. She and is very passionate about having a career in helping to improve the lives of others and has therefore worked within the children and vulnerable adults arena for 3 years now, with the view of this being her lifelong career.

Remi joined Carter Brown at the beginning of 2016 to work as a Proof Reader in our QA department. Prior to this, he developed his proof reading skills working as an editorial assistant. He graduated from the University of Leicester in 2014, having studied English and American Studies.
In his own time, Remi enjoys reading; his favourite genre is science fiction, although he can be found with his nose in a wide variety of books. He also plays bass and guitar in local bands and loves to go snowboarding on the rare occasion that he gets the opportunity.

James joined our service in 2015 as a member of the Local Authority Team and has also been involved in assisting co-ordination of our internal training events. James graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2013 with an honours degree in Sport & Exercise Science and has worked as a personal trainer for 3 years, including involvement with children’s sports clubs.
In his own time, James enjoys competing in strength sports such as powerlifting and strongman, as well as playing and watching rugby.

Alice joined the Case Handing team at Carter Brown in March of 2017. Prior to joining Carter Brown, she completed a degree course in Psychology with an interest in Neuropsychology and Counselling. Alice went on to work in retail and volunteer with a youth charity for 3 years, both roles of which she continues.
In her own time, Alice enjoys gaming and playing the piano, which she has self-taught over the past 13 years. She also enjoys watching ‘bad’ films.

Lisa joined Carter Brown in September 2012 as a Case Handler. Lisa holds a Diploma in Administrative Management from the Institute of Administrative Managers and has over 30 years’ experience in various secretarial and administrative positions in a wide range of industry sectors.
In her own time, Lisa enjoys… reading and spending time with her daughter and husband on family days out. She has an interest in Formula 1 and enjoys attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone with her Husband. Vera joined Carter Brown in 2005 before the Company was acquired by Core Assets. She has extensive experience both as an Administrator and Case Handler with Carter Brown. Before joining Carter Brown she gained experience in retail and secretarial work.
In her own time, Vera enjoys reading, going to the Theatre, walking and keeping fit.

Brodie originally worked for the service between 2010 – 2015 as an administrator and Case Handler before deciding to join a printing firm in 2015 as a Project Manager. After this, Brodie went on to become part of Her Majesty’s Prison Service as a Prison Officer which helped to develop her knowledge of the public sector and gave her the opportunity to promote rehabilitation with offenders.

After graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2005, Rachel has worked mostly within the Private sector dealing with large scale recruitment campaigns. Her previous roles have also included training for customer service advisors, and micro-managing campaign projects.
In her own time, Rachel enjoys going to the theatre and spending time with her friends and family, she is a big animal lover and has a very spoilt cat.

Karen joined our service in 2015 as a member of the referrals and development team. Prior to joining Carter Brown Karen worked as a Deputy Home Manager in the Health and Social care Sector for 8 years looking after individuals with Autism and challenging behaviour. Whilst working in the Health care sector Karen gained a number of qualification including a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Danielle joined our service in 2017 as a member of the Referrals Team. Danielle has completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and ICT at Level 2. She has previously worked as a recruitment consultant, recruiting carers and general operatives and has also worked as an administrator in a Work Based Learning Centre.
In her own time, Danielle enjoys watching TV and films and socialising with friends. She also enjoys going to watch comedians live.

Roxanne joined Carter Brown in early 2016 and currently works as a member of the Referrals and Development team. Roxanne has a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business and ICT and before joining Carter Brown previously worked in Sales, Retail and Customer Service.
In her own time, Roxanne enjoys travelling and exploring new places, reading and watching films.

Joel joined Carter Brown in 2017 as part of the Quality Assurance team. His previous experience is in education, where he taught in secondary schools for four years. Joel graduated from Hull University in 2013 with a degree in English and Drama, before training as a teacher with Sheffield University. He went on to pass his Masters degree in 2016 with Sheffield, completing a research based dissertation in Applied Professional Studies in Education.

Matt joined Carter Brown in October 2017. He graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2015 with a First Class Honours degree in History. He returned to Sheffield Hallam later that year to complete a PGCE in Secondary History and until joining Carter Brown was a Teacher of Humanities.
Matt enjoys playing five-a-side and history.

Ash joined the Carter Brown team in November 2017 as a Cross Service Administrator, before moving to the Quality Assurance team in March 2018. Beforehand, he worked as a sales assistant for GAME after graduating college with a BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in Music Technology.
Outside of work, Ash either spends his time writing songs and touring with his band Catch Fire, or playing with is Bull Terrier, Brock.

Stuart joined Carter Brown in May 2016 as a Quality Assurance Co-ordinator / Proof Reader. He has thoroughly enjoyed his job here and in his words “has met some lovely people”. Before working here, he worked for a Debt Advice Charity in Leeds, helping and providing support to families experiencing problem debt.
In his own time, Stuart enjoys watching films and box sets and spending time with his family and friends. He used to read a lot of books in his spare time but since becoming a proof reader, finds he is too busy looking for mistakes instead of enjoying the story!

Becca joined Carter Brown in 2015 and since joining provides assistance to each teams across the service, as well as customers and associates. Before Carter Brown, Becca received a BTEC Level Three Extended Diploma in Media Production with a DDM and graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 in Media and Popular Culture. Previous to her qualifications, she has worked in a variety of roles within retail, media, and administration.
