Training, Seminars and Workshops

Training, Seminars and Workshops
Carter Brown provide a variety of training events to professionals from legal and social care settings. These might range from ‘large scale’ conference events to smaller ‘in house’ seminars for social care staff.

As an example, for the past five years we’ve successfully delivered ‘Court Skills’ training to a large number of professionals whose work requires them to give evidence in court.

We’re happy to prepare training packages in line with the development needs of your team, and seminars from our existing training offering (examples below) can easily be adapted to learners’ needs. This ensures they get the most benefit from attendance at the sessions.

Examples of the courses we’ve provided include:

  • Medical and sociological perspectives on child abuse and neglect
  • Personality disorder: what is it and can it be treated?
  • Domestic violence
  • Attachment and child development
  • Impact of abuse or neglect on parenting
  • Court skills for social workers
  • The use of psychological assessments with children and adolescents

Please see our training and events page for events open to the public, or contact us for details on how we can offer bespoke training for your local authority.
