Mental Health Advice, Assessment and Support

Life for children today can be difficult.

Mobile phones, social networking and the spread of the internet into all areas of life can mean that children have no safe space: bullying is no longer confined to school but spills over into all aspects of their life. The pressures on children to look fantastic, be thin, be having a good time, be popular and to generally be living an idealised fun-filled life are immense, and can have a significant impact on children’s mental health.

We know that this puts major pressure on children and young people. Concerns about the huge increase in child and adolescent mental health problems are regularly reported. Children and young people are self harming, developing eating disorders, turning to drugs and alcohol and, in some cases, suicide. Sadly the services available on the NHS cannot meet the demand to help support thousands of children in need of help.

It’s essential that you get the best support and advice quickly when a child or young person is in difficulties. Our nationwide team of specialists includes dedicated child and adolescent psychologists and psychiatrists who regularly assess and support children. They will recommend what support/treatment they believe will be effective.

Our specialists have specific expertise in a range of areas such as:

  • Addictions: drugs, alcohol, gambling
  • Anger and aggression management
  • Anxieties and phobias
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Autistic spectrum disorders (ASD)
  • Bereavement
  • Behavioural problems
  • Childhood trauma
  • Bullying
  • Dealing with divorce and separation
  • Depression
  • Disability
  • Domestic violence on children
  • Eating disorders and body image
  • Educational assessments*
  • Mental health assessments
  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Self harm and suicide
  • Separation from, or loss of a parent
  • Sexual/physical/emotional abuse

These are just examples of the things we can help with; please contact us should a child or young person have a problem not mentioned above.

*We’re also able to provide child educational and developmental assessments here.
